Samsa Khatun is a happy woman today. When Shri Sanjay Kumar Pandey, Block Development Officer of Mainatan block in West Champaran, assured her that the installments which had stopped coming under the Indira Awas Yojana will again resume within a couple of days, she felt the pall of gloom lifting off from her. And she has only the Soochna Seva team to thank for this miracle.
Antro D/o Budharam raika, village- Segri, Gram Panchayat- Rani Gaoun got married 55 yrs. before with the person who was living in near village-ramderia. Two months after the marriage, her husband died, after which Antro was sent to her father’s house and there she started her new life at her home with her brothers and their wives. She always felt frustrated and felt like she was a burden to her family, sometimes cries at alone. Later on her brother and bhabhi (Sister in law) also left her. That time she felt embarrassed rather unlucky. She started living with her nephew after that and though he takes very good care of her she feels embarrass as she doesn’t have a singly penny to give his child as blessings. Later on she came to know about widow pension, she went on foot to get her photo and to get her form filled at Gram Panchayat, but the pension didn’t start.
